
Al-Taj News – The general index of share prices on the Amman Stock Exchange rose at the close of last week to 4,124.7 points, compared with 4,093.0 points in the previous week, an increase of 0.77 percent.
The financial sector index rose by 0.84 percent, the services sector index by 0.71 percent, and the industrial sector index by 0.66 percent.
The daily average trading volume on the Amman Stock Exchange during the week from September 13 to 17 stood at approximately JD 11 million, while the total trading volume during the week reached around JD 55 million. The number of traded shares stood at approximately 29 million shares, executed through 23,912 transactions.
The financial sector ranked first in terms of trading volume, reaching JD 22.71 million, accounting for 41.30 percent of the total trading volume, followed by the services sector with JD 16.64 million, accounting for 30.26 percent, and then the industrial sector with JD 15.64 million, accounting for 28.44 percent.
Comparing the closing prices of the 131 companies whose shares were traded during the week with their previous closing prices, the shares of 84 companies recorded increases, while the share prices of 27 companies declined.
